Cookie policy

The short answer

This site uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, ours or anyone else's. Simply browsing stores nothing in your browser. Three things are stored only when you switch them on yourself, and each is necessary for something you asked for. That is why there is no consent banner here.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to store, so it can remember something between pages or between visits. Local storage does something similar. Some are necessary to run a service; others exist for measurement, advertising or cross site tracking.

What is stored, and when

Only these, and only after you use the feature:

• biss-a11y (local storage, until you clear it): the settings you chose in the accessibility menu. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us
• biss-popup (local or session storage): that you have already seen a particular message window, so it does not pop up again. Only when such a window is on the site
• biss_chat (cookie, 30 days): a signed reference to your chat conversation, so you can see the agent's reply even if you come back tomorrow. Created only after you send a message

What we checked, and how

We checked the live site on 19 October 2026, not just the source. On the home page every resource loads from our own domain:

• Cookies: none
• Browser storage: empty, until you use one of the features above
• Requests to external domains: none
• Analytics, advertising or external maps: none
• Fonts: self hosted, not from Google
• The explainer video: self hosted, not on YouTube
• On a tour page: one request to app.biss.tours, our own system, which counts a view of the tour. No cookie and nothing that identifies you

Why there is no consent banner

Cookies or storage needed to provide a service you explicitly asked for do not require consent, under European rules as well. Everything else simply does not exist on this site: choosing a language is a different URL, and there is no login or shopping cart.

What about the system

Purchases happen at app.biss.tours, which is a separate system. There, functional cookies are needed to keep a tour running. If you arrived through a sign at a business or a campaign link, a 30 day cookie is also kept there, so the discount applies at checkout and we know where the purchase came from. There are no advertising cookies there.

If this changes

If we ever add analytics, a tracking cookie or a third party component, we will update this page and ask for your consent before switching it on.
