Who we are

Biss is a platform for self-guided food tours. The tour opens from a link, runs in your phone's browser, and leads you between food stops in a market or a neighbourhood. The tours are built by creators; Biss runs the platform, takes the payment and provides the service.

Our commitment

We want every person to be able to use the site and the tour, not just most people. Accessibility is the practical way to mean that. We invest in making the site accessible, and we take every message about it seriously.

Which standard

Accessibility adjustments were made under Regulation 35 of the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Accessibility Adjustments to Services), 2013, at level AA, and in line with Israeli Standard IS 5568, which adopts WCAG 2.0 at level AA.

What was tested, and how

The site is tested automatically against WCAG on every page, at two screen widths, in two languages, and also with JavaScript disabled and with reduced motion enabled. The tests run again on every code change. We also check full keyboard navigation, colour contrast, and correct reading order in right to left Hebrew and left to right English.

Accessibility of the stops themselves

The tours pass through independent businesses: stalls, restaurants and shops that Biss does not own. The physical accessibility of each place is the responsibility of its owner, and we cannot guarantee it. If the physical accessibility of the stops matters to you, write to us before you buy and we will check with the specific places on that tour.

What is not perfect yet

You may find a component that is not fully accessible yet, or content from an external source that we do not fully control. We keep improving. If you hit a difficulty, that is exactly what we want to hear about.
